| Providing quality education to the underprivileged children, Pratham is the largest nongovernmental organization in India. With the aim of offering pre-school education to the children in the slums of Mumbai city, it was established in 1994. Since then the NGO has grown into many branches and today they give education to more than millions of children in both rural and urban areas. Believing in working with the government to bring about large scale change, Pratham tries to increase the enrolment in schools, learning and communication in schools and to reach out to those kids who have never attended schools. They are also working with close collaborations with the municipal corporations in several cities by signing Memorandums of Understanding with 8 state governments for flagship program – Red India.
