JRD Tata Memorial Library Bangalore

JRD Tata Memorial Library is the library of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.) located in Bangalore. Set up in 1911, way back before India gained her independence, the library has been acknowledged as the best scientific and technical libraries build in the country. During the first month of 1965, the library was shifted to its current location. Apart from its main building it is also divided according to departments. The National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) has accepted this library as Regional Center for Mathematics for the south region and continued to award a special grant towards subscription of Journals in Mathematics. It is no embellishment to declare that the IISc library is the biggest and the finest Library in Bangalore as well as in the whole country. The library at present receives over 1500 periodical titles of which 1210 are subscribed while the remaining titles are received as gratis and on exchange basis.
