Hopkins Architects of London was commissioned the task to design a new 55,000 seat stadium in one of the most prominent cities of Maharashtra, Pune. Following years saw the establishment of an architectural marvel, the Pune International Cricket Centre. Built on a sprawling area covering 125,000 square meters, the stadium boasts of a seating capacity of 55,000 people. The stadium and the seating arrangement have been designed in a manner that an unobstructed and continuous view is assured from each location. Apart from a cricket venue, Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium also houses a squash, badminton and swimming area.
